This is the official website for the McHenry Area CrimeSTOPPERS. We are citizens working to fight crime in our communities. We encourage you to look around and even get involved if you are interested fighting crime in your neighborhood.

Beware of Melting Ice
Spring is here, and lakes, streams and ponds are thawing. Please talk to your children about the dangers of thin ice. If someone one loses something on the ice, please just leave it! You have no idea how thick or thin the ice has become. Always let a parent know who you are playing with, where you are and check in frequently. If something happens scream for help don't try to be a hero.

Spring is Back
Spring is now here and the days are getting longer. Children will remain outside longer. Be careful and ever mindful around neighborhoods where children are playing. A child may dart out between parked cars. We must be mindful that children may not think or look when playing or crossing the street. Please drive safely at all times. As motorists we must share the road with other motorists and pedestrians.

Reporting Crime
Report serious crimes by calling toll free, 1-800-762-7867, that already happened or will happen and those who may commit those crimes, remain anonymous, and receive a secret code to be used as the caller's only identification, and receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 based upon the value of the information.

If you have any information of who is responsible for a crime you are asked to call McHenry Area Crime STOPPERS at 1-800-762-STOP (7867). When you call with information, you will be given a code number known only to you. When you call back to check on the progress of your case, you need only to identify yourself by your code number. If your information results in the arrest and filing of charges against an offender, you become eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000. Your reward will be paid by members of the board of directors, who will require only your code number for identification. Anonymity is guaranteed.

Mission Statement
Our Mission is to develop and promote McHenry Area Crime Stoppers as an effective and proven crime fighting tool. From anonymous information furnished by citizens we will strive to reduce crime through an expanded and stronger relationship between our community, police and media.
